in former Rhodesia, Africa; HARTLEY located at 18°7'48?S 30°8'9?E the town near Harare was originally called Old Hartley after Henry Hartley, an early hunter and explorer but was 34 km east of modern Chegutu. White settlers flocked to the area because gold was discovered here and the Butterfly and Giant mines strung up.
